The Shopify App Store is a collection of free and premium plugins that extend the functionality for online stores. It is a great way of adding more specialized features to Shopify stores. After a merchant installs an app, they unlock the ability to leave a review that includes a star rating from one to five, and a brief write-up of their experience with the app.

As of Jan 09, 2020, the Shopify App Store had 4,240 developers with 5,492 apps, and 474,492 reviews for those apps in total. Nearly 6,000 new reviews are posted each month in the apps store, but over 70% of total paced reviews getting by only 50 apps.

App reviews help merchants and developers too. These reviews are incredibly important for merchants, and they can play a big role in their decision whether or not to install the app. Every review of the app is proof of having an active and engaged user base! Positive reviews verify the app’s value. Insightful reviews on apps are helpful for merchants, and we want to help Shopify App developers show them on the website or inside the app pages to build trust and engage more with their audience.

Displaying merchants' reviews on website pages will help to build credibility and attract more merchants to the app. Moreover, it also motivates new merchants to participate and share their feedback about the app too.
